QuickBooks Accounting Software
So just What is QuickBooks? Well, let me start from the beginning… QuickBooks accounting software was initially developed by Intuit, Inc. for small business owners. Upon the initial release, this software became really popular with small business owners who had no formal accounting training.
There was no more need to hire expensive accountants. The business owner could invest in this program and do most of the accounting for themselves. In no time, it had gained over 85 percent of the small business accounting software market.
After the initial release of the software, Intuit sought to add capabilities to the software that would allow for increased functioning such as full audit trail capabilities and double entry accounting. In 2000, there were Basic and Pro versions on the market, and in 2003, Intuit had begun to release industry specific versions with processes and applications that would create industry specific reports and functioning for each business type.
